Alleged Picture of DILG Sec. Robredo Before Taking Off

The whole country is mourning at the loss of a great and honest leader, DILG Secretary Jesse M. Robredo, who passed away in a tragic flight accident a few days ago.

Technical divers off the coast of Masbate are currently in a relentless search and retrieval operation to recover the still missing bodies of the two pilots, after Robredo's body was found a day ago, August 21, 2012.

(According to some sources, another body has been recovered although the identity is yet to be confirmed.)

This picture, allegedly taken right before Robredo's plane took off, shows the Secretary and Nepalese flight student Kshitiz Chand beaming as they prepare for their flight.

Facebook
Facebook, arguably the largest social networking site at present, is a gold mine of socially relevant content which include news ranging from local to international,  informative articles gathered elsewhere are shared by peers, stories and images that are not on mainstream news channels but deserving of high visibility and readership, and so much more.

As a testament to the power of social media and how social networks can be used to spread relevant information like wildfire, The [Unofficial] Facebook Herald was born.

The vision of the Facebook Herald is to become a reliable, credible, and updated source of informative articles, news, entertainment, and stories that are trending on Facebook.

Its mission is to bring attention to socially relevant issues and information present in Facebook (and possibly other social networks soon), and put them to mainstream media.

This has been inspired by the fact that for so long, Facebook has become my first source of news and social information, and that I envision to bring these socially relevant articles to the attention of the less-Facebook-savvy audience.

Let us harness the power of social networking to bring news and information across the globe.
